NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – (July 7, 2026) – The Langley for Families Foundation announced the recipients of its second giving cycle of 2026 – a total of $212,250 donated to 31 nonprofit organizations serving those in need across the communities served by Langley Federal Credit Union. When combined with the charitable contributions of the credit union, a total of $265,750 was distributed to 40 nonprofits in June.

All grant awards focus on the Foundation’s three charitable focus areas: access to education, healthcare, and housing & human services. The grant recipients from this giving cycle reflect the foundation’s continued commitment to strengthening the communities Langley serves through investing in organizations that provide critical resources and support to families in need, with 13 nonprofits receiving a grant in the amount of $10,000 or more. In addition, as a result of the Langley for Families Foundation’s successful fundraising efforts year-to-date, nine local nonprofits became first-time grant recipients this giving cycle, with a total of $37,500 awarded through the foundation.

“At Langley, our purpose is to invest in people for a brighter future. That purpose includes investing in the nonprofit organizations working tirelessly to connect people with the resources they need to overcome challenges and build a better path forward.” said Jerome Fowlkes, Chief Impact Officer of Langley Federal Credit Union and Board Chair of the Langley for Families Foundation. “As more households face financial hardship, the demand for programs and services offered by the nonprofit sector has never been greater. We recognize that these 40 organizations cannot meet growing community needs alone, which is why Langley is committed to increasing our support of their important work.”

The Langley for Families Foundation will host a total of four giving cycles in 2026, with the deadline for applications for the third giving cycle of the year due on September 11.
