Through grants and volunteering, Langley has sponsored the repair or replacement of six roofs this year.
Langley Federal Credit Union employees, friends and family members honored Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday by volunteering throughout the Hampton Roads community. A total of 213 volunteers worked a combined 1,214 hours to make a difference and honor Dr. King’s legacy.
Langley Federal Credit Union announces its 2019 combined giving efforts of the credit union and the Langley for Families Foundation is $1,085,000. These funds were invested back into the Hampton Roads community to 106 organizations that provide services ranging from healthcare, housing and human services, safety and security, and financial education.
In 2019, Langley for Families Foundation celebrated a substantial increase in dollars donated - $662,563 to 81 organizations. Nonprofit grantees provide valuable community services throughout Hampton Roads – from Williamsburg and Gloucester to Suffolk and Virginia Beach.
On December 17, 2019, Habitat for Humanity celebrated ribbon cuttings for three new homes in Hampton, VA for deserving families just before the holiday season. Langley for Families was a proud supporter of The Harris Family, who purchased one of the new homes.
Edmarc Hospice for Children
Langley for Families Foundation has supported Edmarc Hospice for Children with donations totaling $11,500. Edmarc provides hospice and support services to families facing the trauma of a child's illness or death in the Hampton Roads area.
We visited Edmarc to learn more about the organization. Here are three families who shared their stories of what Edmarc means to them.
