The hard-working team at Langley Federal Credit Union is running an internal virtual food drive to help members of our Hampton Roads community in these truly difficult times. In partnership with the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank, employees are making monetary donations which, in turn, purchase food supplies for the Foodbank.

Virginia Peninsula Foodbank has already noticed an increase in requests for assistance. In response to school closings, they have been partnering with schools to provide Kids Cafe’ meals on site, in addition to continuing the Backpacks for Kids program. They have also started providing pre-packed boxes of food necessities while maintaining their food pantry and mobile food pantry, among several other food assistance programs.

YouGiveGoods.com is the software tool making this easy to manage and fun to participate in. Businesses or groups across the U.S. can get a similar campaign going to help make a difference in people’s lives.
