Langley for Families Foundation Donates $325,500 in First Giving Cycle of 2025
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – (April 30, 2025) – The Langley for Families Foundation (LFF) announced the recipients of its first giving cycle of 2025 – a total of $325,500 donated to 49 nonprofit organizations serving those in need across the communities served by Langley Federal Credit Union. When combined with the charitable contributions of the credit union, a total of $515,000 was distributed to 61 nonprofits in April.
All grant awards focus on the Foundation’s three core program areas – access to education, healthcare, and housing & human services. Recognizing that the recent federal budget cuts are directly impacting the nonprofit sector’s ability to serve those in need, the foundation prioritized supporting organizations whose services are helping families meet basic needs, with fifteen nonprofits receiving a grant in the amount of $10,000 or more.
“Langley and the Langley for Families Foundation are committed to supporting the nonprofits across our communities who are providing the most effective programs and resources for households struggling to make ends meet.” said Jerome Fowlkes, Langley’s Chief Impact Officer and Vice Chairman of the Langley for Families Foundation. “The foundation’s leadership team will continue to gain insight on the financial implications and potential gaps in services that may arise during this challenging time for the nonprofit sector. We are so grateful for the incredible support of Langley’s members, employees, and business partners, whose generosity has enabled us to support the important work of our nonprofit partners who are working diligently to ensure critical services are available for our friends and neighbors in need.”
The Langley for Families Foundation will host a total of three giving cycles in 2025, with the deadline for applications for the second giving cycle of the year due on August 8, 2025.
